1. Kochi Tuskers Kerala (2011)

Kochi Tuskers Kerala was one of the two new franchises added in the fourth season of the IPL. Which star players like Mahela Jayawardene, VVS Laxman, Brendon McCullum, Muttiah Muralitharan, Brad Hodge and Ravindra Jadeja were part of that team.

This new team made its IPL debut against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Kochi. This team started the tournament well but after a few matches, the team faltered and finished the tournament in eighth position on the points table that season. This team was suspended due to some contracts between the franchise owners and BCCI.

2. Deccan Chargers (2008–2012)

After winning the trophy in 2009, this team faltered and its performance continued to decline. A few months after the end of IPL 2012, the BCCI suspended Deccan Chargers for breach of contract terms.

3. Pune Warriors India (2011–2013)

Subrata Roy’s Pune Warriors was one of the two new franchises added to the fourth season of the Indian IPL. The team led by Yuvraj Singh included dangerous players like Graeme Smith, Jesse Ryder, Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey and Mitchell Marsh.

This team made a great start in IPL 2011 by winning its first two matches. But after this, the team recorded six consecutive defeats.

He finished this tournament in 9th place. Pune Warriors India was pulled out of the IPL due to financial differences with the BCCI.

4. Rising Pune Supergiant (2016–2017)

For the 10th season of IPL, RPS bought England all-rounder Ben Stokes for a huge amount of Rs 14.5 crore. They also signed Kiwi player Lockie Ferguson and Australian Dan Christian.

Steve Smith was appointed captain for this season. This season the team reached the finals but lost the final to Mumbai Indians.

This team was disbanded as soon as Chennai Super Kings returned to the tournament. Most of the players of this team were from Chennai.

5. Gujarat Lions (2016–2017)

Gujarat Lions replaced Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2016 and 2017. Suresh Raina has been appointed the captain of the team and they had great players like Aaron Finch, Brendon McCullum, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhawal Kulkarni, Dwayne Smith and Dwayne Bravo.

This team started IPL 2016 with a bang by winning its first three matches against Kings XI Punjab, Rising Pune Supergiant and Mumbai Indians. This team also had a shameful record of losing by 144 runs in the same season. This team was cancelled after the arrival of the Rajasthan Royals.
