What Are The Rules Of Teen Patti?
- The game of Teen Patti can be played between 3-7 people with a deck of 52 cards (without jokers).
- 3 cards are dealt face down to all the players.
- Each player puts an amount of money in the pot before picking up a card, which is called boot money.
- Betting starts with the person sitting on the opposite hand of the dealer.
- A player has to bet or pack (fold his cards) according to the strength of his cards.

Rules For Teen Patti Bliend And Open (Seen):
Players who are playing blinds have to follow these rules:
- If the 3-patti game player before you is playing blind, then you can bet equal to or half the current stake.
- If the player before you is playing, you can bet equal to or double the current stake.
Players who are playing Open (seen) have to follow these rules:
- If the player before you is playing blind, you can bet double or quadruple the current stake.
- If the player before you is playing, you can bet equal to or double the current stake.
At the end of the betting round, there is a ‘showdown’ in which the remaining players show their cards. If there are only two players left in the game, they must pay the stake for the show.
Tie
During the game, if the two remaining players decide between themselves that the game should not be shown or the game should be packed, it is called a tie. In such cases of a tie, the stakes deposited are divided or returned.
Show
At the end of the game, if two players are left and one of the players asks the other player to show, then in such a situation the following rules apply,
- The player who has seen his cards, if he wants the player playing blind to show his card, then he has to bet 4 times the current bet amount.
- If both the remaining players have seen their cards in that situation, the player who asks the other player to show will have to bet double the amount.
- The player playing blind cannot make the show.
How To Play Teen Patti?
Teen Patti is usually played with 3 to 6 players using a deck of 52 cards. Before the game begins, all players have to place the same bet amount, and as the game progresses, the bet amount increases.
According to the method of playing Teen Patti, joker cards are not used, and players who have a sequence of heavy cards (strong hand) win. Due to this, the winner becomes entitled to the bet amount.
In simple words, At the start, the participants decide on the Boot amount. Boot amount is the amount that each player has to put into the pot before picking up a card which is called Boot Money. Boot Money is the required amount of money to start the game.
Teen Patti Is Placed Face Down In Front Of Each Player
Betting starts from the player sitting to the right of the dealer button. Depending on the strength of the cards in his hand, he can bet (continue playing) or fold when it is his turn. Players do not have the option to exchange their cards.
Once the cards are dealt, players choose whether they will play ‘Seen’ (after looking at their cards) or ‘Blind’ (without looking at the cards). Players playing blind can start playing at any time. The initial stake for the first player to bet is the Boot Money.

Trail or Set
Three cards of the same suit are called trail or set which is considered to be the most powerful hand.
Example: High Card No. A♥A♠A♣, K♠K♦K♣ and Low Card No. 2♠2♦2♣
Pure Sequence
Three cards of the same suit in the same order are called pure sequence.
Example: High Card No A♥K♥Q♥ , A♦2♦3♦ and Low Card No. 4♦3♦2♦
Sequence
3 cards of the same No. but not necessarily of the same suit, it’s called sequences.
Example: High Card No A♠K♥Q♦ , A♥2♣3♠ and Low Card No. 4♣3♠2♣
Colour
Three cards in color are of the same suit, but not necessarily of the same sequence.
Example: High Card No A♦K♦J♦ , A♣K♣J♣ and Low Card No. 5♦3♦2♦
Pair
If any two of the three cards are of the same rank but not necessarily of the same suit, then it is called a pair.
Example: High Card No A♣A♦K♠ , A♠A♣Q♠ and Low Card No. 2♥2♠3♠
High card
If any one of the three cards is not of the same suit or sequence or color but still is of high rank, then it is called a high card.
Example: High Card No A♠K♠J♣ A♦K♥10♣ and Low Card No. 5♥3♦2♠
Variations Of Teen Patti
There are many variations of the game available online. The most popular variations of the Teen Patti game are:
High Low: The card with the lowest value becomes the highest-value card. Similarly, the highest-value card becomes the lowest-value card. The rest of the game remains the same.
Auction: Two piles of three cards are placed facedown on the table. The top card is the Joker which is visible to everyone. Before the game begins, each player bids to buy a pile.
The player who buys this pile can replace the cards in his hand with the purchased cards.
ODD Sequence: Instead of three cards in sequence, random cards are used to form the best rank. For example, A-3-5 is used instead of A-2-3.
Community: Players are dealt two cards face down and one face up (community cards). To win you have to make the best hand with these three cards.
Draw: After the cards are dealt, players can discard some of their cards and ask for new cards.
999: To win you have to get the number 9-9-9. The player who has the closest cards to 9-9-9 becomes the winner.
Pack Jack: 3 jokers (wild cards) will be placed on the table, whenever a player folds his cards to become new jokers.
Discard One/Best Of Four: Each player gets 4 cards instead of 3. They have to discard one card that they consider useless and keep three cards. The rest of the rules remain the same.
King Little: The King is used as a Joker. In 3-patti the smallest patti in your hand also becomes a Joker card.
2 Cards Open: In this type of game, players cannot play ‘blind’. Each player is given three cards (two cards face up and one card face down). The player places his bet by estimating the value of the upside-down card.
