Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is owned by Sanjeev Goenka who is also the owner of RPSG Group. RP Sanjiv Goenka Group had purchased Lucknow franchise i.e. LSG Team by making a huge bid of Rs 7090 crore.
Goenka has once again not become the owner of any IPL team. He was also the owner of Pune Super Giants, a team that played in the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
Then due to many irregularities including spot fixing, Chennai and Rajasthan teams were banned for two years and in their place two new teams took part in the league.
Earlier, the Goenka Group had also purchased the Pune franchise in 2016. Even then he had named his team ‘Rising Pune Super Giants’.
