Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant’s full name is Rishabh Rajendra Pant. He was born on 4 October 1997 in a Kumaoni Brahmin family in Roorkee, Haridwar in Uttarakhand. His father’s name is Rajendra Pant and his mother’s name is Saroj Pant.
Rishabh has an elder sister, whose name is Sakshi Pant. Pant has been fond of cricket since childhood and he has been a big fan of Australia’s wicketkeeper Batsman Adam Gilchrist since childhood. Rishabh Pant is not married yet. However, he has a girlfriend named Isha Negi who is an interior designer.

Rishabh Pant completed his early education at The Indian Public School, Dehradun. After that, he was admitted to Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University, New Delhi. From where he studied BCom. Pant has been interested in cricket since childhood. He started playing cricket at the age of 12.
Rishabh Pant Initial Cricket Career:
Rishabh Pant started playing cricket in Dehradun itself. After that he started searching for a cricket coach for training, then he came to know about India’s best coach ‘Tarak Sinha’, who used to teach cricket to Delhi players. Rishabh told his father about this and somehow convinced the father to go to Delhi.
His father also already knew about Pant’s ability so he started coming to Delhi with his family by compromising for his son’s future. Where he started training from Tarak Sinha to learn professional cricket along with his studies.
Gilkrist Of India
Coach Tarak was greatly impressed by his wicketkeeping capacity and also started making Pant an explosive batsman. Rishabh slowly started batting like Adam Gilchrist. He played for several cricket clubs and then moved to Rajasthan on the advice of his coach, where he started the Under 14 and 16 but faced discrimination in the Rajasthan team.
After which he came to Delhi to make his career. But his journey in Delhi was not easy. Rishabh Pant once told in his interview that there was a time in his life when I used to eat Bhandare’s food to fill my stomach and stay in the gurudwara to spend the night.
Rishabh Pant Domestic Cricket Career
Rishabh Pant started his first-class cricket career on 22 October 2015 while playing for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy. Where he scored a half-century in his second inning. After this, he played his first list-a match on 23 December 2015-16 in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Pant scored 308 runs while playing against Maharashtra in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy. With this, he became the third youngest Indian batsman to score a triple century in first-class cricket. After this, on 8 November 2016, Rishabh Pant set a record for scoring the fastest century in the Ranji Trophy.
He scored 100 runs from just 48 balls while playing for Delhi against Jharkhand. Given his brilliant performance, he was included in the Under-19 World Cup team. Rishabh Pant made a lot of headlines in the Under-19 World Cup when he scored a half-century off only 15 balls.
He played an important role in bringing India to the finals throughout the tournament. Pant made 267 in 6 matches, including two half-centuries and a century. From here, the selectors’ eyes on Pant’s performance were fixed and within a year he got a chance to play with the Indian team.

After performing brilliantly in the Under-19 World Cup in 2016, Rishabh Pant was bought by the Indian Premier League (IPL) Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) team for Rs 1.9 crore in the auction. He scored 198 runs in 10 matches of his debut season, batting at a strike rate of 130.26.
In the next season itself, Pant improved his scoring rate in IPL 2017 and hit 366 runs in 14 matches at an average of 165.61. The best IPL season for Pant so far has been 2018, in which he scored a total of 684 runs with a century and 5 half-centuries. He became the highest run-scorer in the tournament. In IPL 2021, Rishabh Pant was elected captain of Delhi Capitals.
