The ICC has announced a record prize money of $ 11.25 million (about Rs 93.51 crore) for the T20 World Cup, out of which the winning team will be given $ 2.45 million i.e. about Rs 20.36 crore. The runner-up will get $ 1.28 million (about Rs 10.63 crore).
How Much Will The Semi-Final Teams Get?
The teams losing the semi-finals will be given $ 7,87,500 (Rs 6.53 crore) dollars. Last time the total prize money was $ 5.6 million, and the winner England got $ 1.6 million.
ICC said the prize money for the winner of the 20-team tournament in the 9th season of the T20 World Cup is the highest in the tournament’s history. Apart from this, the trophy will also be given after the final in Barbados on June 29.
How Much Money Will The Teams Reaching The Super 8 Get?
According to ICC, each of the four teams that could not go beyond Super Eight will be given $3,82,500, while the teams ranked ninth to 12th will get $2.47 lakh and the teams ranked 13th to 20th will get $2.25 lakh.
Every team will get $31,154 for winning each match (except semi-finals and finals). The 55-match tournament will be played for 28 days at nine places in America and West Indies.
